Some odds and ends from 2002 and some information for the New Year,  2003 ...........

Our fly-in to Everglades City  on Sunday December 15th , 2002 brought lots of  traffic to that airstrip...Six planes arrived and even after a no-start, (due to a dead battery) the Bodleys arrived just in time to have lunch at the Seafood Depot with the rest of the Club members....The weather was clear, it was smooth flying, and it gave some Club members a chance to log flying time before the end of year and out of town vacations took them away .Hope the skiing was good in Colorado for you, Tamra Sheffman and Ron Mayer............

Our Holiday party  was held Saturday, the 21st of December at the Wings Over Miami Museum. There was an overabundant buffet provided by the membership and  approximately 40 people came to this activity. The cool, crisp night air made it truly feel like a Winter’s night, but luckily no snowflakes fell. It was a perfect night for a good hot cup of coffee and the Club wants to thank the personnel at the Museum for filling the  pot with coffee made in the back room, after if was determined that the pot was not functioning properly....

It also was an opportunity for the Club to acknowledge and thank Ingrid Johnson for all her years of hard work and involvement with TAC with a card and a gift of a chenille blanket... She has retired and moved to the Ft. Pierce area but says she still intends to be involved....

Our gift exchange was started by ticket #1 held by Gail Schecter who unwrapped a cookbook and decided to keep it. During the exchange it was taken from her, but she recovered it in the end.....This extremely literary group brought many gifts of books and most were kept....The one gift that seemed to receive the focus of attention was a flashlight...............it was illuminating to see what caught the most interest!!!!!!

Please make plans to attend a fly-in to Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute on Sunday, January 19th, 2003. This activity is in conjunction with the Florida Goldcoast chapter of the 99s....The event is limited to 43 people due to the boat capacity. The cost is $22.00 per person for ground transportation, the tour, and the boat ride. You are asked to bring your own lunch, which will be eaten on the boat and the Club will provide the dessert. ETA at  Ft. Pierce is 10:00 am, the tour is scheduled from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm, and the boat ride is scheduled from 1:00 – 2: 30 pm...Time will be given for gift shop browsing/purchases..... So telephone or e-mail your reservations as soon as possible to either  Cruise Director: Sue Bodley (305) 385-1958 or sue@bodley.net or Bobbi Lichtiger

(305) 444-3458 or bltiger@bellsouth.net........Remember--do not delay....space is limited.......

The Annual Dinner/Meeting will be held  Friday night, January 31, 2003. Our guest speaker for the evening will be Mike Handrahan,  airport manager of Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport.
