This year of 2002 is quickly drawing to an end. BUT  many fantastic activities are being planned in this final month for this year........

Sunday December 15th the Club will have a fly-out to Everglades City with lunch at the Seafood Depot...ETA is 11:30 am. Please notify Sue Bodley at 305 385-1958 or sue@sfla.net  if you will be going.

The Annual Holiday Party and Farewell Party for Ingrid Johnson, one of Tamiami Aero Club chartered members who is moving to Ft. Pierce  will be held on Saturday evening, December 21st  at the Wings Over Miami  Museum.....it is a covered dish buffet----food to be provided (note that I didn’t write prepared by, though I know that we have many excellent cooks out there as noted from previous functions that our Club has held)...................by  our members and it is our Cruise Directors who are coordinating this festivity.....so plan to attend and help plan our menu now by  informing Bobbi Lichtiger at 305 444-3458 or bltiger@bellsouth.net or Sue Bodley at 305-385-1958  or sue@sfla.net of what food you plan to bring (appetizer, salad, vegetable, main dish, or dessert). There will be an open bar.. There will be a $10.00 per person charge. And .....the real fun is the gift exchange......when everyone brings a $10.00 wrapped present that is chosen by those in attendance............In years past this has really turned into an activity for the memory books..........

And speaking about memory books-----The  Rockin’ Rodeo Murder Mystery Weekend held at the Seminole Inn in Indiantown,  November 16-17 brought everyone by land, since the weather grounded the planes......But it certainly did not ground the TALENT amongst our members.....The costumes and make-up were extraordinary (see the pictures on our website www.tamiamiaeroclub.org)....... The stand-up comic team of Slim Parker (Charlie B.) and Sleepy Spurs ( Dave W.)  had everyone laughing so hard that some in the audience were brought to tears and were turning crimson in the face.......And the lasso skills of  M.J. Barnes(Barbra  ) almost had people tied in knots.......and  the singing skills of Dixie Crystals(Sharee M.) with Roy Rhinestone(Monte L.) who wrote the lyrics(see below) with the backup singers Ruby (Judy B.) and Sapphire (Wendy S.) made for a lively rendition ......But the big event of the evening, of course, was the stabbing murder of Colonel “Red” Tyler (Don S.)by...................Diamond Dan(Nick W.) a.k.a. Billy Joe Barnboard, because he  was sold swampland in a land swindle scheme by the Colonel and BJB didn’t want to pay the money!!!!.. so he just murdered the Colonel instead.........this made for a fun-filled evening when everyone had to try to figure out WHO was the Murderer.....This Club event is always lots of fun, so in the future please try to join us..................

I LOVE MY AIRPLANE…….Lyrics by Monte Lichtiger aka Roy Rhinestone

( to the tune of “ You Are My Sunshine

Once a year now

I love my airplane

It needs an annual.

The cost is higher

Than my plane can fly

I’ve got no money

My hangars empty.

I’ve got to pay

To get back in the sky.

The other day dear

My little airplane.

But I get nervous

When vis is low.

I love these grass strips

In Palm Beach County.

Join us now

For the Rock’n Rodeo.

When I was landing

My gear got stuck up

And fuel was low.

I pancaked in and

I crashed my airplane

Now I’m grounded

And I need a tow.

And speaking about events that are on the future calendar that you may like to join in:
